During the past 12 months there has been a lot of activity in the Burntwood, Loggerheads.
The local football team (Loggerheads FC) has had limited opportunity to play any football due to Covid-19 restrictions so they took it upon themselves to improve the football pitch and facilities.
During the first lockdown large parts of the pitch were dug up and land drainage was fitted, but the exciting works came during the latest lockdown. New changing rooms with WC’s and showers were installed for the first time in the club’s history. It has taken a huge amount of effort to reach this stage, but facilities for the community are now secure for generations to come. All the work was undertaken by the football team and the players have given up countless hours to create a ground to be proud of.
A big Thank You goes to Loggerheads Parish Council who have helped and encouraged the club along the way from planning applications to helping fund the project. And a special mention must go to first team manager Kevin Jones: without his driving force and determination none of this would have been possible.
