The Schools’ Calendar Project was set up in 2014, in collaboration with twelve local Primary schools and Grove Secondary School, to encourage and celebrate local school children’s artwork.
From the outset, over 2000 school children take part each year and local businesses generously sponsored the publishing costs of the calendar. All proceeds from sales are shared equally between the thirteen participating schools. To date, over £10,000 has been raised for the schools.
We are also thrilled that the Market Drayton School’s Calendar Project recently won third place in an award scheme run by Tesco’s Store in Whitchurch and received a cheque for £500 towards the costs of organising the Annual Exhibition and creating the 2022 edition of the Schools’ Calendar last year.
We are proud of the success of the project and hope that local people will enjoy the Exhibition and help to support its continuance by buying a copy of the 2023 Calendar.
Copies £5.00 are available from the following outlets:

All proceeds from sales of the 2023, Calendar this year will be given to each of the 13 participating schools in the form of whole day art workshops led by professional local artist Malcolm Hague, organised within the current academic year.
The Exhibition 2022 – Grove School Main Hall
Open to the public on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th October from 10am-2pm.

Each year a minimum of eight children’s paintings of all age groups from each school are selected to be displayed in an Art Exhibition in the Main Hall, Grove School as part of the annual Drayton Arts Festival. One of these paintings is selected from each school to feature in the printed calendar.
